TASTING NOTES
Tageto is obtained from grapes from the Donna Olimpia 1898 vineyards located in Bolgheri (LI), located on the coastal strip of the Tyrrhenian Sea, lying on a silty sandy soil. The harvest takes place at full maturity in September. The grapes, selected in the vineyard, are then taken to the cellar to be vinified. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, favoring the prolonged contact of the skins with the must. The malolactic fermentation takes place in October immediately after the alcoholic fermentation. Aging is 4-6 months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% one year old) and 6 months in the bottle. Intense ruby garnet color with evident violet reflections; broad net nose with notes of small red fruits, pepper, chocolate and licorice; very harmonious taste with good structure with a very persistent and sweet finish.
ORIGIN OF THE NAME
According to legend, the Etruscan people, who occupied the Tuscan lands, learned from a mysterious child named Tageto, born from the furrow of the plow used by Tarconte, the way of cultivating the vine and the olive tree.
