GRAPE VARIETY
Sangiovese Grosso 100%
TASTING NOTES
The Sangiovese Grosso used to produce this splendid Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere grows at 270/310 meters above sea level and has eastern and northern exposure. The yield of 6 quintals per hectare guarantees, along with the exposure, excellent, though slower ripening of the grapes. This Le Lucere 2018 in the glass is complex and already open, with aromas of slate, dried rosemary, grilled sage, lemon peel, black cherries and cardamom. Soft and full-bodied, with elegant, fine tannins, it has nuances of olive pit and herbs. Firmer and more mineral finish than the previous vintage. To be tried after 2025. Harvest began in the first decade of October 2018. To extract all the best from the grapes, a 2-day cold pre-maceration at 10°C is carried out. This is followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and a subsequent maceration of 10/12 days at 26/28°C. Malolactic fermentation follows in cement and stainless steel tanks. Aging is a very important part of the production of Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere, in fact it is aged for 24/28 months in barrels and barriques and then 10 months in bottle. The Magnum bottle is perfect to be openede on special occasions or as an important gift, as it is sold with the original wooden box.
