TASTING NOTES
Chablis AOC Vieilles Vignes 2024 by Domaine Michaut Frères is a still white wine from Chablis made 100% from Chardonnay sourced from old-vine parcels in Béine, at the heart of the Chablis vineyard in the Côte Chablisienne. This Vieilles Vignes 2024 displays the freshness, minerality and clarity typical of Chablis from kimmeridgian soils. The 2024 vintage in Chablis offered favourable conditions that allowed balanced ripening, preserving bright freshness and the distinctive mineral character of the terroir. Grapes from older vines add extra aromatic complexity and deeper structure to this wine. To the eye it shows a bright straw-yellow colour typical of high-quality Chablis. On the nose it opens with mineral-driven aromas framed by floral and citrus notes, with hints of green apple, ripe pear and lemon. On the palate it is dry, fresh and lively, with vivid acidity that balances structure, saline minerality and a persistent, refreshing finish. Domaine Michaut Frères is a dynamic 53-hectare family estate based in Béine, producing Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis 1er Cru. The Michaut presence in Chablis dates to the 1960s; today Adrien Michaut, third generation and head of the domaine since 2010, applies winemaking techniques that emphasise quality and terroir expression. An elegant, mineral Chablis ideal as an aperitif or paired with oysters, mussels, raw seafood and fish risottos. The Chablis AOC Vieilles Vignes 2024 from Domaine Michaut Frères is an authentic, complex Burgundy white with notable finesse.
