Domaine Michaut Frères is located in Béine, in the heart of the Chablis region, and the estate's vineyards extend over 53 hectares, divided between the denominations of Petit Chablis, Chablis, and Chablis 1er Cru. The history of the Michaut family in Chablis began in the 1960s when Henri Michaut started his business with a small vineyard of 2 hectares. His three sons—Jean, Bernard, and Christian—joined him in the following years, contributing to the growth of the company. By the end of the 1980s, a new winery was built on the hill at the foot of the Notre Dame de Béine church. In the 1990s, with the expansion of the business, the brothers decided to bottle and distribute their wines globally, modernising the winery and production facilities. Today, Adrien Michaut, the third generation of the family, is at the helm of the Domaine and continues to expand their vineyards. Since his arrival in 2010, he has worked with diligence and passion, implementing innovative winemaking methods that emphasise wine quality, including adopting modern techniques for fermentation and ageing. His vision aims to awaken the senses and produce wines that express the spirit of the Domaine: pure, dynamic, and authentic.
