TASTING NOTES
The Sancerre 2022 from Domaine de Terres Blanches is a wine made exclusively from Sauvignon grapes. The estate's vineyards extend over 13.5 hectares and are located in the communes of Bué en Sancerre, Sancerre and Amigny. The calcareous soil of the area, consisting of caillottes and Terres Blanches, gives the wine a unique character. The grapes are harvested by hand when fully ripe, after rigorous selection in the field. After cold decanting, the must ferments in temperature-controlled vats for about 20 days. Subsequently, the wine is matured in steel vats on the lees for 8 months before being bottled. The result is a wine with a floral aroma and hints of citrus fruits, fresh and smooth, with a long, fruity finish. The Sancerre Blanc 2022 from Domaine de Terres Blanches is an excellent expression of the terroir and the variety of grapes used, to be enjoyed on any occasion. More specifically, this Sancerre Rouge 2020 by Domaine de Terres Blanches is a wine made from Pinot Noir grapes from a small vineyard of 1.5 hectares located in the commune of Bué en Sancerre. The limestone soil is mainly composed of caillottes, the hard limestone typical of the Sancerre region, and Terres Blanches. After manual harvesting when fully ripe, the grapes are destemmed and selected a second time before being placed in the vats. Fermentation begins after a cold maceration and extraction takes place by means of punching-down and pumping-over, with a short 15-day period in the vats. After racking, half of the wine is refined in steel vats and the other half in barriques. Red fruit aromas can be perceived on the nose, while the palate is firm and long, with light, soft tannins that give the wine the ability to age for several years.

Domaine de Terres Blanches

Domaine de Terres Blanches Discover Domaine de Terres Blanches in the Loire Valley and its fine wines in our online store In 1998, Jean-Louis Saget decided to purchase Domaine de Terres Blanches for its outstanding characteristics. With a strong family tradition in Pouilly-sur-Loire, he immediately recognised the great potential of Sauvignon Blanc in the renowned Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé appellations. In 2010, Arnaud and Laurent Saget joined their father in the family business, concentrating their efforts on enhancing the terroir and the wines produced. Domaine de Terres Blanches owns 15 hectares of exceptional terroir in the Sancerre appellation, in the communes of Bué en Sancerre and Amigny, with 13.5 hectares dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc and 1.5 hectares to Pinot Noir. A further 2 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, thus completing the estate's vineyards. The Domaine's identity is based on the terroirs from which the grapes come, respecting the soil as the mother of the wines to allow each product to express its uniqueness. Winemaking is done to preserve the specific characteristics of the grapes, vinifying each parcel separately. Love for the land and the vineyards, together with the desire to bring out the unique character of the terroir, are the core values of the Domaine de Terres Blanches. On Vinoso.shop you can easily and conveniently buy wines that have been carefully selected by experts to guarantee quality and authenticity.
