BAS ARMAGNAC MILLESIMATO
TASTING NOTES
Bas-Armagnac Vintage 1963 is distinguished by its richness, sumptuousness and creaminess. The aromas are opulent, of cocoa, nuts and Madeira. There is an aroma of candied fruit, notes of vanilla with hints of wood and leather that make for a classic aftertaste. The 1963 vintage is the estate's oldest, distilled by Gabriel Bachos, founder of the estate, of which only a few bottles remain. Made solely from Baco Blanc grapes grown on tawny sand soils, this bas Armagncac Millesimato 1963 had a very long aging in oak barrels, from 1963 to 2018. Currently, what remains of this precious distillate is stored in a glass demijohn and bottled only on demand. Bas Armagnac Millesimati represent the Armagnacaise specificity. They correspond exclusively to their respective year of distillation and each vintage has its own peculiarities. A back label placed on the bottle indicates the date of bottling.

Founded in 1945, Domaine "à Lafitte" is an 18-hectare family-run business located in the heart of the Armagnac region. Winegrowers since 1945, the Bachos family creates an artisanal and authentic Bas Armagnac in the purest tradition. In particular, the Domaine has chosen to specialize in Vintaged Bas-Armagnac since the beginning of its business. During the tasting phase, complex aromas are evident such as aromas of pastry and dried fruit, more or less sweet notes and power or lightness. The vintage Bas-Armagnacs are products of the distillation of wines obtained from Baco Blanc and Ugni blanc grapes. The distillation technique and the period of aging in wood are crucial for its quality and for having an optimal aromatic evolution of the distillate.
