The Tenuta Di Arceno is located in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga,in the province of Siena. Located to the southeast in the chianti classico territory, itborders the ancient medieval village of San Gusmé. The estate dates back to the Etruscan era and extends for 1000 hectares between the hills at an altitude between 300 and 450 meters .m. The estate's cultivated soils cover an area of 90 hectares where the climate is temperate and the composition of the soil, consisting of clay, granite and basalt, facilitates drainage as well as reflecting the warmth of the sun to the plant. Within the estate, 10 different microclimates and 12 different types of soil have been identified, including the galestro, the most valuable in Toscana. In the continuous search for exclusive and high quality products, Arceno adopts the philosophy that in viticulture is called micro-cru,that is, a further division of each vineyard into smaller sections, depending on the soil and the type of soil. Each micro-cru is characterized by varieties, clones, doormen and good viticulture practices suitable for the soil. The care, harvest and vinification in each micro-cru take place separately and become the unique expression of that particular section of the vineyard. Only in the final stages of production do we combine micro-crus to create unique blends. In the replanting of the vineyards, detailed maps of the soil, topography and climate were drawn up to get a complete overview of the complexity of the soils. To accommodate this characteristic complexity, the soil was then divided into 63 micro-crus. Tentua Arceno produces three Bordeaux-style wines, based on Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and three Chianti Classicos, eachan expression of a specific aspect of the estate's personality made by Pierre Seillan, an internationally renowned winemaker.
