ORIGIN OF THE NAME The name of Donna Olimpia 1898 is in honor of Olimpia Alliata Signora di Biserno and wife of Gherardo della Gherardesca, who baptized the estate in 1898 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their wedding.

Of ancient and noble origins, the Donna Olimpia 1898 estate was baptized in the same year in honor of Olimpia Alliata, Lady of Biserno and wife of Gherardo della Gherardesca on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their wedding. Located in the heart of Bolgheri , in the province of Livorno, spread over 60 hectares, 45 of which are new vineyards planted following a study on clones and rootstocks. The vines planted are obviously those whose vocation has been widely demonstrated: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot; for white wines, on the other hand, Vermentino, Viognier and Petit Manseng. The estate boasts a modern cellar of 5000 square meters, designed to maximize energy savings and minimize environmental impact.
