The wines Winzerberg, which means Montagna dei Vignaioli, are the result of a project that has been meditated and dreamed of for some time. They constitute a line of high quality labels that includes five whites (Sauvignon, Gewürtztraminer, Kerner, Pinot Bianco, Müller Thurgau) and two reds (Pinot Noir and Lagrein) created by identifying in the Südtirol five winemakers with as many Masi, equipped with highly suitable terroirs for the cultivation of grapes typical of the region, but different from each other. The love and care of the vineyard, as well as the skilful hand of the Alto Adigeean winemaker, have given life to seven wines that reflect the character and origin of the territory. This is how wines rich in nuances are born, peculiar and modern, but well rooted in the territory, unique and yet unmistakable. In this way you can find, gathered under the same name, excellent bottles. The great Mountain of Winemakers includes several specific terroirs: the slopes around Bolzano, the Val d'Isarco, the Oltradige and Renon. The Sauvignon Winzerberg already looks like an important wine. The list of aromatic notes is very long and we leave everyone the pleasure to discover how to play every scent. The taste is the typical fruity one, not particularly acidic, but with a long persistence. The chosen vineyards are characterized by warm and sandy soils in the Oltradige and Renon. Gewürtztraminer is a wine with rather marked floral and citrus aromas. This wine refines four months in steel and two months in bottles. Produced with grapes from steep slopes in highly suitable areas around the city of Bolzano. Kerner has a different character,a white more intense on the nose and full-bodied, but with a pleasant freshness and cleanliness in the mouth, although slightly savory. The grapes are in fact grown in light, gravelly and sandy soils of the highest slopes, steep and exposed to the sun of the average Val d'Isarco and Renon. Pinot Bianco comes from selected vineyards around Bolzano where the temperature differences between day and night are important and contribute to the aromatic development of the grapes, thus giving rise to a complex but fresh and clean wine in the mouth, decidedly elegant. The Müller Thurgau grapes from the Val d'Isarco are located at 700 m above sea level and express, in addition to the typical hint of nutmeg, a pleasant scent of elderberry. Finally we find the reds of Winzerberg, Lagrein and Pinot Noir or Blauburgunder, two wines of body and great elegance. Pinot Noir, or Blauburgunder, which has found its second homeland in Alto Adige, expressing itself at its best when grown in vineyards located in hot and well-ventilated sites in the Renon, as in this case, gives rise to an intense and slightly spicy wide wine. Lagrein,on the other hand, a typical vine of The Adige, which finds its ideal habitat in the Bolzano basin, is energetically persistent and savory.
