MONTE ROSSA Tradition, craftsmanship and pursuit of excellence in Franciacorta

Since 1972, when Paolo Rabotti and his wife Paola decided to dedicate themselves to viticulture, Monte Rossa's story is dotted with strategically winning decisions, first of all to abandon the road of still wines in search of excellence in Franciacorta,or to invest with determination in technology, or even, the continuous research and experimentation that distinguish the Bornato winery. These choices are carried out with enthusiasm and innovative spirit by Emanuele Rabotti. Today Monte Rossa governs 70 hectares of vineyards and the production stands at 500 thousand bottles per year. The various positions of the crus on different soils and exhibitions contribute to expanding the aromatic heritage of the grapes, so as to compose cuvées rich in structure and complexity, pleasantly fine and elegant. The Franciacorta diMonte Rossa, awarded and appreciated in Italy and in the world, and the Cabochonfamily, wines with unique prestige, have been joined since August by the historic Pusterla vineyard,a real pride for Brescia and brescians who, in addition to beingthe largest urban area in Europe,in 2007 won the title of "Historical Heritage of Environmental Agri-Food Culture" conferred on it by the Slow Food Association. The Pusterla vineyard, which covers an area of almost 8 hectares, has ancient origins, was 1037 and the royal monastery of Santa Giulia cultivated grapes on the slopes of Cidneo. A unique geographical position that guarantees exposure to the sun throughout the day and particularly favorable conditions for the cultivation of the vine, plants that today boast an original strain of almost a century. Another important investment of Emanuele is represented by the new cellar, which will be finished in time to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary ofMonte Rossa.
