The Devaux company is located in Bar sur Seine in the Côte des Bar, and is known for its distinctly complex, balanced and tasty champagnes, mainly from the Côte des Bar, Côte des Blancs and Montgueux. Since his arrival in 1991, the biker and music lover Michel has grown within the company, his goal has always been to create wines that are easy to drink and incredibly wide. Now he and his team have been rewarded for their efforts with the International Wine Challenge Sparkling Winemaker of the Year 2020 title.
Champagne Devaux has been producing champagne since 1846, always with a decidedly contemporary touch. Collection D, Coeur des Bar and the inimitable Sténopé created in collaboration with Michel Chapoutier, all reflect the unique history and experience inherent in the Maison and the terroirs of the Côte des Bar.
Every year, the International Wine Challenge (IWC) recognizes and celebrates the best wine producers in the world. Now in its 38th edition, the IWC is recognized as the most rigorous, impartial and influential annual wine competition in the world. In a very rigorous evaluation process, each wine is blindly evaluated and evaluated for its fidelity to style, region and vintage. All the wines awarded are tasted at least three times: first by a minimum of two juries, then by two co-presidents of the competition who confirm the evaluations of the juries. IWC evaluation teams include international wine, commercial and MW experts and influencers; they work together to identify each year the highest quality wines from the 52 wine-producing countries represented in the competition.
