CHAMPAGNE BRUT
GRAPE VARIETY
Pinot Noir 55% Chardonnay 45%
Reserve wines: 35% minimum, mostly aged in large oak barrels.
TASTING NOTES
Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar, Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Montgueux from the Côte des Bar. Cellar aging is different between the 750 bottle and the magnum, in fact while the bottle ages for a minimum of 5 years, the magnum stays on the lees for a minimum of 7 years. For those who enjoy a richer style of Champagne, Devaux's wines come from the warmer, southern slopes of the Côte des Bar, which give more body and fruit. On the nose, Cuvèe D has an enchanting ripe butteriness, with notes of sweet and toasted brioche that continue on the palate with hints of buttered brioche, honey and apple compote in a charming smoothness. But there is more than charm in this wine. An intense, heavy ripeness fills the palate, complemented by delicately perfumed Sorrento lemon notes and a long, fresh acidity. The smoothness of Pinot Noir and the elegance of Chardonnay. A deliciously fresh and creamy champagne of great persistence. Main aromas: crisp brioche, vanilla, white flowers.
