TASTING NOTES
Pouilly-Fumé is a white wine made from 100% Sauvignon grapes. The terroir of Pouilly-Fumé covers seven communes including Garchy, Mesves-sur-Loire, Pouilly-sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain, Saint-Laurent-l'Abbaye, Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain and Tracy-sur-Loire. The two hectares of vineyards where this wine is produced are located on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone marl soils. The grapes are harvested by hand when fully ripe, after careful selection in the vineyard. After an initial cold decantation, alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks for about twenty days. The wine is then aged on the lees for 8 months before bottling. Pouilly Fumé presents itself with a golden colour and green reflections. Subtle aromas of mint, citrus and acacia flowers can be perceived on the nose. In the mouth, it is well balanced, with a nice fresh finish.
