TASTING NOTES
The year 2016 imparts a very expressive profile to this blend of two plots from the Oger terroir, Les Noyerots and Les Rumigny . The nose showcases the intensity of mature Chardonnay, with hints of apricot and peach. A generous and velvety profile is discernible, enveloping these fruity notes. The palate is definitely pastry-like, intense, elegantly extended by a subtle final bitterness. The balance of this wine, shaped by 5 years of aging on the lees, with cork and wire cage closure, is fully revealed: a generous yet biting Chardonnay.

  • Terroir: Oger Grand Cru Chardonnay: 100%
  • Bottling: April 2017 (under cork)
  • DOSAGE: 5 g/L

Franck Bonville

Franck Bonville Discover the Maison Franck Bonville and its fine Champagnes in our online store At the beginning of the twentieth century Alfred Bonville was buying plots of vineyards that had been destroyed by the phylloxera a few years earlier. Crazy or visionary, the Bonville family has been specializing in Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru in Avize for four generations. In fact, after the Second World War, his son Franck began marketing the cuvées of the same name, continuing to expand the area owned by the company. The Franck Bonville company owns 15 hectares of vineyards divided into 77 plots within three classified Grand Crus: Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger . The intrinsic quality of the grapes is enhanced by hand harvesting, only when and if perfectly ripe. 50 barriques are purchased every year to make Les Belles Voger and used to store the reserve wines to produce the liqueur de tirage . The underground tunnels built in the 19th century are dug out of pure chalk and guarantee constant temperature and humidity throughout the year. A minimum aging of two and a half years is necessary to appreciate the quality of Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs , while an aging of at least six years is necessary for Cuvée Prestige and Vintage Cuvée .
