TASTING NOTES
The Pinot Noir Le Rosé 2024 by Gustave Lorentz is a high-quality rosé wine produced in the Alsace region of France. Founded in 1836 and now managed by the sixth generation of the Lorentz family, this winery is renowned for its commitment to crafting exceptional wines. Gustave Lorentz is notably the principal owner of the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim, with 12 hectares of vineyards, 10 of which are dedicated to Riesling and Gewürztraminer. The winery underwent a complete renovation in 2015, making it one of the most modern facilities in Alsace. The 2024 vintage stands out for its elegance and freshness, shaped by Alsace's continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, which promote optimal grape ripening and impart good acidity and structure to the wines. Alsace is celebrated for its diverse soils, including clay, limestone, and granite, which profoundly influence the style of its wines. Additionally, it is one of France's driest regions, reducing disease risks and enabling minimal use of chemical treatments. Pinot Noir, a delicate and versatile grape variety, is often used to produce light red wines and rosés. For rosé production, the grape skins are briefly macerated with the must, giving the wine a delicate pink hue and a bouquet of red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries. The Pinot Noir Le Rosé 2024 is a fresh and dry rosé wine with an antique pink colour and delicately fruity aromas, including red fruits like wild strawberries and raspberries, complemented by a hint of pink grapefruit. Its pastel hue is inviting to the eye. On the nose, it offers a fragrant bouquet of red fruits with subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it is refreshing and vibrant, showcasing flavours of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, with soft and elegant tannins. This wine pairs wonderfully with spicy dishes, Thai cuisine, white and red meats, cured meats, and cheeses. It is best served at a temperature of 8-10°C.

Gustave Lorentz Discover Cantina Gustave Lorentz in Alsace and its fine wines in our online store In Alsace, more precisely in the village of Bergheim, the Lorentz family has been involved in wine production for 250 years . In fact, in 1863 Charles Lorentz founded the winery moved by an incredible passion for the wine world. The vineyards are located on the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim and Kanzlerberg . It is thanks to a great passion handed down from generation to generation that the company still maintains very high quality levels today. According to the production philosophy, the essence of the wines is the result of the intimate and close relationship between vines, territory and climate. Currently the property includes 33 hectares and is entrusted to the sixth generation of the Lorentz family. Riesling , Pinot Grigio , Gewürztraminer and other varieties in the Altenberg hills express their typicality, year after year. The recognition for this perseverance took place in 1983, with the classification of these vineyards as " Gran Cru ".
