TASTING NOTES
Arianiello is a pretty district of Lapio, in the province of Avellino. Laura De Vito has a real passion for zoning and has chosen to follow the Cru route for her wines in the cellar. That is why this wine is called Arianiè, after the suggestive dialect name of the contrada in which the grapes are grown. The vineyard is located at an extraordinary altitude of 500 metres above sea level and is in fact the lowest vineyard on the estate. The 2021 vintage in Irpinia was the driest in 15 years, with only 520 mm of rain. Despite the low rainfall and above-average temperatures during the summer, the grapes were in excellent condition, with optimal sugar concentrations and balanced pH and acidity. In addition, they presented an interesting endowment of aromatic precursors, which will undoubtedly result in wines of great profile and quality. Harvesting is very careful and begins in the second week of October, when the Fiano grapes from the Arianiè vineyard are carefully picked by hand. The grapes are then immediately brought to the cellar and gently pressed. Our wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks, followed by a 9-month maturation period, also in steel. After bottling, Arianiè is refined in the bottle for at least 20 months before release. The result is a beautiful straw yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections. The wine has intense aromas of grapefruit zest, thyme, coriander, wild fennel, nettle and mint, followed by elderflower and delicate notes of dried fruit. The palate is rich and enveloping, with a good savoury charge that leaves a mineral trail and lingers in the citrus sensations. Laura De Vito's single vineyard produces unique and characteristic wines that you absolutely must try, you will be thrilled!
