TASTING NOTES
Tiraki Pinot Noir is a red wine produced in the north of the South Island of New Zealand, which is renowned for its high-quality Pinot Noir grapes. This wine is often described as medium-bodied with a fruity flavour profile, with notes of cherry, raspberry and a hint of spice. It pairs well with dishes such as grilled salmon, roast duck or mushroom risotto. Marlborough, located at the northern end of New Zealand's South Island, is the country's largest and most renowned wine region. Renowned for its distinctive Pinot Noir, Marlborough boasts a unique terroir that combines climate, soil and landscape to produce vibrant and aromatic wines. Grapes harvested by hand at full maturity are mainly destemmed and fermented in open fermenters of four tonnes each. During the alcoholic fermentation process, approximately 10% of the whole clusters are added to enhance the wine's freshness and liveliness. Subsequently, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 11 months, with 20% of the barrels being new. Tiraki Pinot Noir is a complex and concentrated wine with aromas of cherries, dark spices and violets. On the palate, the wine offers notes of black cherry and plum, which merge with a light touch of spicy oak and silky tannins, giving the wine structure and elegance.
