The 2023 vintage stands out for its favourable climatic conditions, with a good alternation of sun and rain, which allowed for optimal grape ripening. These conditions contributed to the development of a rich and complex aromatic profile, typical of Chardonnay, characterised by freshness and minerality. The harvest was carried out at the right moment, ensuring high-quality grapes. Chardonnay is an international grape variety that has found an ideal environment in Salento to express its potential. This variety adapts well to the sandy and calcareous soils of the region, favouring the production of fresh and aromatic wines. In Salento, Chardonnay is vinified with care to preserve its distinctive characteristics, creating wines that reflect the local terroir. The Chardonnay del Salento Blasi 2023 presents itself with a bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of citrus fruits, pineapple, and vanilla notes, accompanied by delicate floral nuances. On the palate, the wine is dry and persistent, with a lively freshness that makes each sip enjoyable and smooth. This wine pairs perfectly with fish dishes, seafood, and fresh cheeses. It is also ideal as an aperitif due to its versatility and freshness. To emphasise the sense of place of this splendid white wine, the label features a detail of the entrance door of Masseria Blasi, where all the rows of Chardonnay vines are located, interspersed with magnificent avenues lined with centuries-old olive trees—the beating heart of Vigneti Reale's agricultural estate. Founded in 1921, Vigneti Reale is a winery that stands out for its commitment to quality and sustainability. Located in Cellino San Marco, in the heart of Salento, the estate spans 250 hectares of land, of which approximately 85 are dedicated to viticulture. The winery is equipped with the latest technologies for winemaking, allowing for the production of elegant and refined wines.
