Villages and villages that seem enchanted, castles and medieval fortresses perched on the mountains, green valleys as much as the eye can see, vineyards that produce some of the most valuable wines in the world. We are located in Alsace at the north-eastern end of French, on the border with Germany and Switzerland, with which it mixes its cultural, linguistic and gastronomic identity, giving life to a unique and varied territory. In fact, this region was contested for centuries by France and Germany, officially becoming French only in 1919 with the Treaty of Versailles after World War I. The capital of Alsace is beautiful Strasbourg, seat of the European Parliament. South of Strasbourg is Colmar, a charming and picturesque town considered among the best villages in France and, again, a constellation of quaint villages that will transport you back in time, immersing yourself in a magical atmosphere, as in the cartoon of La Bella e la Bestia with their colorful half-timbered houses with sloping roofs, Gothic churches and cobbled driveways. Between these two beautiful cities is the heart of the Route des vins d'Alsace, and in the village of Bergheim, the Lorentz family has been dedicated to wine production for 250 years. The vineyards are located in the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim and Kanzlerberg. The first, oriented completely to the south, has a marl-limestone soil, while the second, with a clayey-calcareous soil, is the smallest Grand Cru d'Alsace. The general principle that has guided the Lorentz family for six generations to date is "You can't produce wine unless you put your whole heart into it." And in fact heart and passion continue to lead the company that owns 32 hectares of vineyard taking care of every single parcel in detail. Recognition of this commitment came in 1983 with the classification of some vineyards such as Gran Cru and in 2012 organic certification,pre-eminence of times and fashions In particular, Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Gewurztraminer in the hills of Altenberg express their typical features, year after year and are considered the heart of the company. In the cooler part of the hill, with clayey-calcareous soils, the company has planted Pinot Noir, with which a still rosé is produced and the Cremant Rosé,typical of the area but relatively new for the company. Currently the company has rented 120 hectares of vineyards, also in the Bergheim area, in order to produce Cremant.
