COTE DE NUITS-VILLAGES
Appellation d'origine Contrôlée
GRAPE VARIETY
Pinot Noir 100%
TASTING NOTES
The famous Côte de Nuits, with its renowned appellations that fascinate the world, is known for producing high-quality wines that are not accessible to everyone. However, the Côte de Nuits-Villages is an exception to this rule. This particular cuvée comes from the Vignotte area in the village of Comblanchien, famous for its marble quarries. The clay-limestone soils give the wine a unique softness and fullness. The Pinot Noir grapes used to produce Les Combes 2018 are harvested by hand, selected in the cellar, destemmed and fermented. During fermentation, pumping over and punching down are carried out. After a 15-day maceration, the wine is racked and aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 10% of which are new. In the glass, it has an intense and brilliant purplish-red colour. The bouquet is fresh and sophisticated, typical of Côte de Nuits wines, with notes of black cherry and spices. In the mouth, it stands out for its velvety texture, full body and excellent balance between ripeness and acidity. Flavours of black fruit, wild plum, bark, hazelnut and coffee emerge, harmonising with aromas of spices, incense, beeswax and dark chocolate. Despite the firm tannins, they will soften and evolve with time.
