TASTING NOTES
Meursault, one of the three major wine-producing areas of the Côte de Beaune, is renowned for its exceptional white wines. The clay and limestone soil of Meursault offers a variety of nuances, depending on its geographical location. The grapes used to create this Meursault Village cuvée come from four different plots scattered around the village, resulting in a complex final blend that perfectly reflects the entire Meursault appellation. The Chardonnay grapes from each plot were fermented separately to preserve the unique characteristics of each terroir. After careful pressing, the musts were allowed to settle before fermentation exclusively in barrels, with the addition of 30% new oak. Only a limited part of the cuvée underwent malolactic fermentation. During the barrel ageing process, the wine acquired structure and delicate brioche notes thanks to regular and precise bâtonnage. The maturation in barrels continued for 10 months. The wine presents itself in the glass with a beautiful straw-yellow colour. Initial notes of honey, yeast, hazelnut and vanilla emerge on the nose, followed by fresh aromas of verbena, coriander and herbs. Underlined by hints of lemon, tangerine and peach, the citrus notes blend with a touch of elegant complexity. On the palate, the wine opens with opulent tones and lively acidity, accompanied by nuances of vanilla and brown sugar. The finish is characterised by a pleasant citrus freshness and saline tones. The balance between acidity and sweetness is remarkable, indicating that the wine has considerable ageing potential.
