TASTING NOTES
The Premier Cru vineyard is situated in the southern part of the village, in close proximity to Santenay and above Les Morgeot. Its soil, rich in limestone marl and exposed to the south-east, enables the vineyard to produce wines renowned for their refreshing and mineral notes. The Chardonnay grapes were harvested and pressed with great care, with vinification carried out entirely in barrels at low temperatures to ensure the wines retain their fresh, mineral aromas. During maturation, a delicate bâtonnage was carried out to increase the wine's roundness and richness. After 16 months of ageing in barrels, 33% of which are new oak from Haute Bourgogne, the wine has an elegant oaky note. In the glass, it has a splendid golden yellow colour. The nose reveals notes of hazelnut and butter, followed by a floral bouquet with aromas of lemongrass, marigold and white flowers. The wine is fresh with notes of verbena and candied lemon, accompanied by pleasant acidity, salinity and subtle hints of flint. A hint of frangipani gives body to a well-balanced sip. Long, velvety and refreshing, this wine promises to evolve superbly.

Edouard Delaunay

Edouard Delaunay Discover Edouard Delaunay in Burgundy, and his fine wines in our online store The Delaunay family originates from western France and has been linked to the world of wine for generations. Since 1771, Edme Delaunay has been a sworn wine broker by royal decree, demonstrating the constant quest for excellence and ambition that has characterised the Maison over the years. In 1934, the family was one of the founders of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Tastevin, thus confirming its leading role on the wine scene. Laurent Delaunay, the fifth generation of the family, decided to rediscover and enhance the history of the Maison, reacquiring it in 2017 and bringing it back to the top of the great négociants of Burgundy. Thanks to the careful vinification and ageing of wines from the region's best terroirs, the Maison Edouard Delaunay has regained its prestige and continues to be a benchmark in the wine world.
