TASTING NOTES
The Franck Bonville Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Magnum is the perfect expression of an elegant and refined Champagne, presented in a 1.5 litre Magnum format ideal for those wishing to celebrate special occasions with a wine of intense character and long ageing potential. Like the classic bottle, this Brut Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from the prestigious Grand Cru terroirs of Avize and Oger in the Côte des Blancs. The chalky soils impart sophisticated minerality and exceptional finesse to the wine. The blend combines three carefully selected vintages — typically 2017, 2016, and 2009 — to achieve a harmonious balance of freshness, complexity, and creaminess. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve aromatic purity. The wine then undergoes around 30 months’ ageing on the lees, developing evolving aromas and a smooth, enveloping texture. The moderate Brut dosage lends pleasant roundness without compromising the wine’s freshness. In the glass, the Magnum shows a bright golden colour with straw-yellow highlights and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose reveals delicate, elegant, and subtle aromas of green apple and citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit, followed by notes of brioche and baked fruit. On the palate, it is focused and vibrant, supported by balanced creaminess that culminates in a long, fresh, and lightly saline finish. The larger Magnum format encourages a slower, more gradual maturation, allowing the Champagne to develop an even more refined aromatic complexity over time, making it particularly coveted by collectors and enthusiasts. Franck Bonville is a family-run House founded in 1926, where tradition, respect for terroir, and commitment to sustainability are core values. This Champagne is perfect for elegant aperitifs and pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood, white meats, and delicate cheeses, confirming its status as a symbol of excellence in the Champagne region.

Franck Bonville

Franck Bonville Discover the Maison Franck Bonville and its fine Champagnes in our online store At the beginning of the twentieth century Alfred Bonville was buying plots of vineyards that had been destroyed by the phylloxera a few years earlier. Crazy or visionary, the Bonville family has been specializing in Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru in Avize for four generations. In fact, after the Second World War, his son Franck began marketing the cuvées of the same name, continuing to expand the area owned by the company. The Franck Bonville company owns 15 hectares of vineyards divided into 77 plots within three classified Grand Crus: Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger . The intrinsic quality of the grapes is enhanced by hand harvesting, only when and if perfectly ripe. 50 barriques are purchased every year to make Les Belles Voger and used to store the reserve wines to produce the liqueur de tirage . The underground tunnels built in the 19th century are dug out of pure chalk and guarantee constant temperature and humidity throughout the year. A minimum aging of two and a half years is necessary to appreciate the quality of Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs , while an aging of at least six years is necessary for Cuvée Prestige and Vintage Cuvée .
