TASTING NOTES
Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Vendange 2023 is a white wine made from Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Bourboulenc and Clairette in the renowned southern Côtes du Rhône appellation. The vineyard is located on a small terrace on the north-eastern slope of the appellation, where the soil is characterised by pebbles, clay, light sand and crushed mineral stones. The grapes are harvested by hand with great care and pass through a careful selection process. Due to the different ripeness of the grape varieties, the harvest takes place at different times: the Grenache Blanc is picked at the beginning of September, while the Roussane after 4 weeks. After pressing, the grapes ferment in wooden barrels from the Tronçais forest. Ageing takes place in vats at a controlled temperature for about 6 months to enhance the sensory characteristics of the wine. This wine has a beautiful bright yellow colour with greenish highlights and the nose reveals complex aromas of quince, white truffle and flowers. The fragrant persistence is the result of a modest yield and a sophisticated ageing process. The fine-grained, lightly toasted wood gives the wine a soft, harmonious chestnut bouquet. The palate is in perfect harmony with the olfactory notes, offering impeccable balance. The result is a combination of elegance and purity, reminiscent of both southern Burgundy and the typical character of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
