TASTING NOTES
Lavantureux Fréres is a family-run winery with twenty hectares of vineyards in the small village of Lignorelles. The main principle followed in the vineyards is 'Viticulture Intégrée': no weeding and no pesticides, only natural soil cover or ploughing. The sunny south and south-east facing slopes on the right bank of the Serein always produce perfectly ripe grapes. In the cellar, we try to accompany the wine, not direct it. Vinification is carried out with strict thermoregulation in order to preserve all the finesse and complexity of the fruit. Ageing takes place in stainless steel or French oak, depending on the cuvée and the characteristics of each vintage. Bougros is a very expressive Grand Cru and is partly matured in new oak barrels (about 20%) and partly in older barrels, 2 to 5 wines for 80%. The proportion depends on the characteristics of each vintage. Intense fruity notes characterise this wine, which has great persistence. Perfect with hearty meat and fish dishes, ideal with medium mature mountain cheeses. Bougros is a wine that requires patience. It is often quite closed for the first few months or even years before revealing its complexity and richness, so we always recommend waiting a few years to fully enjoy it. Quite intense nose, with real freshness and an elegant structure with some hints of green vegetation. To be enjoyed by 2032.
