TASTING NOTES
Elegant and refined, the Riesling Trocken 2022 is a perfect combination of delicate fruit with balanced acidity and a long finish. With a rich and seductive character, this wine impresses with its elegance and exotic fruit aromas. Ideal with aromatic or spicy dishes, it can also be enjoyed on its own. Notes of spring flowers, white peach and Amalfi lemon with a touch of herbaceous freshness. The body is elegant and lively, with a mineral core and fine tannins. The finish is fresh and bright and although this is a basic dry Riesling, it has great ageing potential. The grapes come from vineyards near the prestigious Kiedricher Gräfenberg, which is characterised by rocky soils of phyllite and loess. The south-west exposure and 60% slope contribute to the quality of the grapes. The 2022 vintage was influenced by a warm summer with little rainfall and a warm winter with rainfall that benefited the soil's water reserves. Despite an early start to flowering and accelerated growth, the dry summer weather slowed down the ripening of the grapes. The early harvest ensured that the grapes were of excellent quality. The meticulous care taken in the vineyards resulted in an exceptional vintage, with excellent quality both in the vineyard and in the wines produced.
