RHEINGAU
VDP Gutswein
GRAPE VARIETY
Riesling
TASTING NOTES
Delicate and elegant, this Riesling represents a perfect synthesis of fine fruit with ripe acidity and a long persistent body. Rich, seductive, striking in its elegance and exotic fruit aromas, this wine is perfect in combination with highly aromatic or spicy dishes, but also ideal to be enjoyed on its own. The grapes of the Robert Weil Rheingau Riesling Trocken come from areas surrounding the prestigious Kiedrich Gräfenberg. The soil is predominantly rocky, consisting of phyllites and loess, interspersed with smooth areas. The vineyards, with south-west exposure, reach slopes of 60%. The 2021 harvest was slightly later than average, and this benefited the grapes, which were able to enjoy warm days and cool nights, ideal conditions for aromatic development. Compared to previous vintages, 2021 has a fresher and more lively acidity. Enticing spring blossom, white peach and Amalfi lemon aromas with a touch of herbal freshness. Elegant and racy with a tight core of wet stone minerality and fine tannins. Very crisp and bright finish. For a basic dry riesling this should age extremely well.
