TASTING NOTES
The Sangiovese Grosso that is used to produce this wonderful Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere grows at 270/310 meters above sea level and is exposed to the East and North. The yield of 6 quintals per hectare guarantees, together with the exposure, an excellent ripening of the grapes, even if slower. In fact, the harvest began in the first ten days of October 2017. To extract all the best from the grapes, they use cold pre-maceration for 2 days at 10 ° C. This is followed by the fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature and a subsequent maceration of 10/12 days at 26/28 ° C. Malolactic fermentation follows in concrete vats, on pourpose, and stainless steel tanks. Aging is a very important part in the production of Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere, in fact it ages for 24/28 months in barrels and barriques and then 10 months in bottle. The bottles produced in the 2017 vintage were 15,000.
