GRAPE VARIETY
Nebbiolo 100%
TASTING NOTES
The 2017 grape harvest will be remembered for its warm weather pattern and particularly for its low rainfall. The winter was mild with little snowfall, while the spring was marked by some rainfall and temperatures above the seasonal average, which further favored the vegetative development of the vine, which from the very beginning proved to be early and was maintained for the continuation of the season. Based on the findings, we can certainly remember this vintage as one of the earliest in recent years, as the Nebbiolo harvest began in the second decade of September and ended in early October, about two weeks earlier than normal in La Morra. The 2017 harvest produced wines of great perspective, compared to the fears of early summer, confirming once again the great vocation and adaptation of viticulture in the Langhe hills. Aromas of berries, cedar and underbrush guide the nose. In the mouth it is juicy, rich with morello cherry, star anise and toasted hazelnut along with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2024 to 2037.
