TASTING NOTES
Valpolicella DOC Classico Ca’ Bussin 2024 from Boscaini Carlo is a wine embodying the elegance and freshness typical of the Classico zone of Valpolicella, in the heart of Veneto, specifically in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella. The 2024 vintage, thanks to favourable climatic conditions, allowed optimal ripening of the grapes, ensuring a good balance between acidity and sugars. This wine is produced from a blend of traditional Valpolicella grape varieties: Corvina (30%), Corvinone (40%) and Rondinella (30%). The vineyards are trained using traditional systems such as the Veronese pergola and Guyot, with a density of around 3,000 vines per hectare, allowing optimal management of grape quality. Visually, the Ca’ Bussin 2024 shows a very pale, transparent ruby red colour, typical of the vintage. On the nose, it reveals a delicate bouquet, with aromas of fresh Morello cherries, marzipan, violets and a subtle hint of pepper adding a spicy nuance. On the palate, it is soft and rounded, with well-integrated tannins and a vibrant freshness that makes it harmonious and balanced. The finish is pleasantly persistent, with fruity recalls and a slight minerality. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with around 10 days of skin maceration, accompanied by three daily pump-overs to ensure adequate extraction. Afterwards, the wine matures for a short period in cement tanks and finally ages in bottle for at least three months before release. The alcohol content is approximately 12% vol. An interesting fact about the Boscaini Carlo estate is that it is named after grandfather Carlo, who lived to 102 years old, attributing his longevity to the consumption of good wine and a life devoted to the vineyards and cellar. The estate continues to combine tradition and technological innovations to produce authentic, quality wines, with a sustainable approach and minimal use of additives. The Valpolicella DOC Classico Ca’ Bussin 2024 is ideal to accompany first courses of Italian cuisine, white meats and lightly structured dishes, offering a fresh and refined tasting experience typical of the Valpolicella Classica.
