TASTING NOTES
The 2018 vintage presented characteristics very similar to those that characterized 2016. The phytosanitary state of the grapes in September was excellent and the first bunches harvested had a balanced weight and slightly thinner skins than in previous years. The climate was also favorable: thanks to the beautiful heat and soft rains in July, this hill grape has matured a good acidity and abundant quantities of coloring substances. Fortunately, the floods that hit Valpolicella in the first days of September did not damage the Boscaini vineyards and therefore the quality of the grapes immediately appeared very good, particular aromas developed during the vinification phase, tending to exotic hints, which are found also in finished wine. This wine is produced from grapes grown in the upper part of the company territory called La Preosa. The fermentation of this Valpolicella Classico Superiore lasts about 20 days with three daily pumping over, applying the French delestage technique twice. Wine aged for one year, in large 1500 liter oak barrels. Intense red color with iridescent shades that evolve over time. The nose reveals notes of spices and sweeter notes, from vanilla to ripe exotic fruit, such as notes of mango and papaya. On the palate there is a good structure and great balance. It goes preferably with red meats and game. It should be served at room temperature, preferably placed in a carafe and decanted half an hour before. The Magnum bottle with the original wooden case is perfect as a gift or to take to a friend's house for dinner.
