TASTING NOTES
In the world of champagne, vintage 2012 is widely regarded as a standout year. The weather conditions in the Champagne region during that year were mostly favourable, resulting in high-quality grapes with good balance of acidity and sugar levels. This ultimately translated into wines that are rich, complex, and age-worthy. Overall, vintage 2012 in Champagne is considered to be a memorable year, producing wines with great potential for enjoyment and aging. The Chardonnay is sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Le Mesnil sur Oger and Oger, while the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are from the right bank of the Marne Valley, between Epernay and Dormans. This vintage Champagne is made exclusively from Coeur de Cuvée. The musts are decanted at a low temperature for 24 hours and then vinified in large oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, without malolactic fermentation. They mature on the lees in oak barrels for an average of nine months. The wine matures at least four years in the cellar before release. There is no dosage, but it is topped up with the same wine during disgorgement, the date of which is always indicated on the back label. The wine has an intense gold colour. The nose is ripe and presents a variety of well-ripened fruits, biscuits and toasted bread. The palate is still relatively young and boasts fruity pear flavours. The finish is full and persistent, with excellent freshness support and remarkable persistence.
