TASTING NOTES
The Collard-Picard Perpétuelle 13 Extra Brut Champagne epitomises the excellence of French artisanal winemaking, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a unique and refined tasting experience. This sparkling wine is crafted from a meticulous blend of selected grapes: the Chardonnay is sourced predominantly from the renowned Grand Cru vineyards of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, celebrated for their pronounced minerality and freshness. The Pinot Noir and Meunier are cultivated on the fertile banks of the Marne Valley, between Épernay and Dormans, lending the wine structure and complexity. Vinification is distinguished by the exclusive use of the first two pressings of the must (Coeur de Cuvée and Cuvée), ensuring exceptional purity and superior quality. The musts are clarified at low temperatures for 24 hours to preserve their aromatic profile and freshness. The Cuvée Prestige is vinified in large oak foudres with indigenous yeasts, without malolactic fermentation, and is matured on the lees for approximately 15 months, developing remarkable depth and complexity. A defining feature of this Champagne is its perpetual blend, incorporating vintages from 2008 to 2020, with at least 70% reserve wines, which imparts both balance and stylistic continuity. Following bottling, the wine undergoes a minimum of four years’ maturation in the cellar, achieving perfect harmony prior to release. The Extra Brut dosage, achieved using rectified concentrated grape must (MCR), accentuates the wine’s natural elegance. In the glass, it displays a brilliant golden hue, indicative of maturity and richness. The bouquet is striking for its intense aromas of pure fruit, apricot, and citrus, complemented by delicate notes of patisserie and freshly baked bread. On the palate, it is fresh and dynamic, with a creamy structure and complex, persistent flavours. The finish is long, with lingering hints of ripe fruit and pastry. Collard-Picard is a maison born from the union of two historic vigneron families, symbolising both tradition and innovation in Champagne. Each bottle bears the disgorgement date on the back label, providing transparency and a guarantee of quality for the consumer. Perfect for those wishing to purchase fine Champagne online, this wine stands out for its aromatic richness, extended maturation, and respect for traditional practices. It is ideal for tastings, gifts, and surprising gastronomic pairings.

Collard-Picard

Collard-Picard Discover Maison Collard-Picard and its fine Champagnes in our online store The Maison Collard-Picard, founded in 1996 by Olivier Collard and Caroline Picard, is a contemporary Champagne House that focuses on traditional techniques. The winery is located in Villers-sous-Châtillon, in the Vallé de la Marne, overlooking the valley. The wines produced by the winery do not undergo malolactic fermentation, thus guaranteeing their freshness and longevity. This practice, although uncommon in Champagne, is used by Collard-Picard to ensure the long-term expressiveness of its wines. The house's champagnes are known for their strong connection to the land and the distinctive character imparted by the Pinot Meunier grape. Collard-Picard champagnes are characterised by a combination of noble vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne and the prestigious terroir of the Côte des Blancs, where chardonnay is the dominant grape. The winery's approach is gentle and nature-oriented, with the aim of maintaining a harmonious relationship with the environment. The result of these factors is a high level of excellence in the wines.
