The Donna Olimpia 1898 Bolgheri Bianco DOC 2023 is a white wine of great elegance and structure, perfectly expressing the unique character of the Bolgheri terroir on the Tuscan coast. The grapes are carefully selected from vineyards planted on silty sandy soils of continental, aeolian, and colluvial origin, benefiting from a mild and breezy climate ideal for balanced ripening and excellent quality, as confirmed by the optimal conditions of the 2023 harvest, which yielded healthy and concentrated grapes. Visually, the wine shows a bright, lively straw yellow colour of medium intensity, hinting at its freshness and vitality. On the nose, it reveals a broad and clear bouquet with elegant mineral and citrus notes, white flowers, accompanied by hints of candy and honey that add complexity and finesse. On the palate, it is savoury, full-bodied and warm, with a balanced structure and a persistent, pleasant finish that leaves a refreshing and mineral sensation typical of the Bolgheri terroir. The vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, followed by approximately 14 months ageing on fine lees with bâtonnage, a technique that imparts longevity and softness to the wine while maintaining its freshness and enveloping character. ORIGIN OF THE NAME
The name of Donna Olimpia 1898 is in honor of Olimpia Alliata Signora di Biserno and wife of Gherardo della Gherardesca, who baptized the estate in 1898 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their wedding.

Of ancient and noble origins, the Donna Olimpia 1898 estate was baptized in the same year in honor of Olimpia Alliata, Lady of Biserno and wife of Gherardo della Gherardesca on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their wedding. Located in the heart of Bolgheri , in the province of Livorno, spread over 60 hectares, 45 of which are new vineyards planted following a study on clones and rootstocks. The vines planted are obviously those whose vocation has been widely demonstrated: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot; for white wines, on the other hand, Vermentino, Viognier and Petit Manseng. Gifts of a unique territory, Donna Olimpia 1898's wines are characterized by their minerality, harmonic structure and intrinsic elegance. The estate boasts a modern cellar of 5000 square meters, designed to maximize energy savings and minimize environmental impact. It is equipped with the best available production technology, but still the aging in wood takes place in French oak barriques, so traditional.
