Millepassi 2021 is a wine crafted from a careful selection of classic red grape varieties of the region, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The 2021 vintage benefited from ideal conditions for slow and optimal ripening, with warm summer temperatures tempered by sea breezes that preserve freshness and acidity in the grapes—key elements for maintaining the wine’s balance and structure. Vinification follows traditional methods enhanced by modern technology: fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by approximately 14 months ageing in French oak barriques, which impart structure, elegance, and aromatic complexity to Millepassi. Visually, the wine displays an intense, lively, and deep ruby red colour. The nose reveals rich and enveloping aromas of dark forest fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by delicate spicy notes, subtle resinous hints, and a touch of liquorice. On the palate, it is powerful yet balanced, with fine, well-integrated tannins supporting a smooth and harmonious sip, finishing with a pleasant and lingering aromatic persistence. This Bolgheri Superiore pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan and Italian dishes such as braised red meats, game, roasts, grilled foods, and aged cheeses. It is best served at 15–17°C, ideally decanted to fully enhance its characteristics.
