Campo alla Giostra 2022 by Donna Olimpia 1898 is a Bolgheri DOC that perfectly embodies the elegance and power typical of Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated in the Bolgheri zone, one of Tuscany’s most renowned terroirs. The sandy-clay soil, combined with the microclimate moderated by proximity to the sea and the diurnal temperature variations, promotes slow and complete ripening of the grapes, thus enhancing concentration and aromatic complexity. Visually, this wine shows an intense, vivid ruby hue enriched with violet reflections, highlighting its freshness and youthfulness. On the nose, it opens with a broad and complex profile: distinct notes of blackberry and blackcurrant emerge immediately, accompanied by vegetal nuances of ripe bell pepper, adding character and depth. Warm, enveloping aromas of cocoa and liquorice follow, while a delicate spiciness and light balsamic hints complete the aromatic spectrum, making it intriguing and rich. ORIGIN OF THE NAME
The name Campo alla Giostra "dei cavalli" is in honor of the 20th general of Varenne, born in 1995, who was raised by Dubois in the stables of the Estate.
