TASTING NOTES
LillyBeth 2021 is a vegan organic red wine that represents a new era for the Drei Donà winery. This wine has been conceived to celebrate conviviality and the joy of togetherness, evoking a light-hearted and carefree atmosphere. LillyBeth is the result of the vision and creativity of the new generation of the Drei Donà family, particularly the children, Ida Vittoria and Enrico. The name LillyBeth pays homage to two Corgi dogs, one of the family's passions. Unlike the other wines from the estate, which are inspired by the horses from the family stable, LillyBeth embodies the vivacity and contagious energy of Corgis, known for their sociable and friendly nature. This wine welcomes guests with a warm embrace, creating a familial and joyful atmosphere from the very first moment. LillyBeth is produced using a natural winemaking method that recalls the style of wines from southern France, such as Beaujolais Village. It is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The winemaking process begins with a cold maceration of Sangiovese skins, which are then combined with the Cabernets to ferment together in cement tanks using indigenous yeasts. This process revives ancient winemaking traditions and ensures an authentic wine. Sensory-wise, LillyBeth presents itself with a bright ruby colour, flecked with purple highlights. The aromatic profile is intense and complex, featuring notes of crunchy cherry, red plum, and mulberry. On the palate, the wine is broad and dense, with a refined tannic texture that offers pleasant freshness. The combination of flavours creates a finish rich in saline and mineral nuances. With a potential for ageing of 5-7 years, LillyBeth is best served at a temperature of 17°C. This versatile wine pairs perfectly with a wide range of dishes, from vegan options to charcuterie platters, as well as meat ragù pasta dishes and grilled Adriatic fish. In summary, LillyBeth 2021 is not just a wine; it is a celebration of conviviality and hospitality characteristic of Tenuta La Palazza. It invites everyone to discover this extraordinary wine and be enchanted by its joy and warmth.

Drei Donà

Drei Donà Discover the Drei Donà Winery in Emilia-Romagna and its fine wines in our online store The Tenuta La Palazza was built between the cities of Forlì and Predappio in a strategic position between the valleys of the Montone and Rabbi rivers, around one of the watchtowers that Caterina Sforza ordered to build to defend her possessions. The estate, owned by the Counts Drei Donà since 1923, has always been dedicated to the production of Sangiovese grapes. The company underwent a radical transformation in 1979, when Claudio Drei Donà took over the management, together with his son Enrico. Of the 23 hectares cultivated under organic farming, the majority is dedicated to the Sangiovese vineyards from which the classic Predappio Doc "Notturno" and the Riserva "Vigna del Pruno ” are produced. The futurist vision of Count Claudio also gave birth to "Il Tornese" , the first great white wine from international grapes in Romagna and the red "Magnificat" , a "single vineyard" from the first Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard planted in this region. The particular names of the wines deserve a mention: in fact, they were baptized with the names of the horses of the small family breeding farm.
