TASTING NOTES
Jeannine Boutin's pure Syrah Bonnevaux from the 2021 vintage in the AOP Côte Rôtie was produced from high quality grapes due to the favourable climatic conditions of the growing season. The grapes were carefully harvested by the winegrowers, ensuring uniform ripening and concentration of flavours and aromas. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the harvest was a success and the wines produced promise extraordinary quality and typicity. The vineyards are 70 years old and grow on chalky, siliceous soils, giving the wine rich aromas of red fruit, blackberry and floral notes of violets. After fermentation and ageing in oak barrels, the wine is characterised by its roundness, freshness and velvetiness. It has light tannins and persistent fruit, with great balance and harmony, making it suitable for storage for up to 15 years.
