TASTING NOTES
The Alto Adige DOC Blauburgunder Pinot Nero 2024 from Winzerberg represents an oenological excellence that fully reflects the character of the Alto Adige territory. This vine, which has found an ideal terroir in Alto Adige, benefits from vineyards located between 300 and 500 metres above sea level. The notable temperature variations between day and night, together with the morainic and calcareous soils, give rise to an elegant and complex wine. The climate of Alto Adige, characterised by a significant temperature range between day and night, combines sunny days with cool nights thanks to mountain winds. This thermal contrast allows the grapes to develop intense aromas whilst maintaining a lively acidity, an essential element for the balance and freshness of this wine. The 2024 vintage was challenging for winegrowers due to a cool and rainy spring that delayed ripening, followed by a hot summer and autumnal rains. However, thanks to the expertise of the Alto Adige producers, the grapes have reached excellent quality, giving rise to delicate and fresh red wines. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo soft pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. In the glass, this Blauburgunder Pinot Nero 2024 from Winzerberg has a light ruby red colour, absolutely typical. On the nose, it offers a floral bouquet with notes of violet, fruity hints of raspberry and plum, and a spicy touch. On the palate, it is soft and creamy, with a long and persistent finish. This wine pairs well with Alto Adige cured meats, savoury medium-aged cheeses or robust dishes based on meat and/or game.
