TASTING NOTES
The Nuragus 2023 by Antonella Corda is a white wine that perfectly embodies the two souls of Sardinia: the land and the sea. This wine is born from vineyards located in the countryside of Serdiana, on gentle slopes characterized by calcareous-marly soils—a unique terroir that offers a mineral-rich white soil and a temperate, often windy Mediterranean climate. Despite a production decrease estimated between 25% and 30% compared to the previous year, the 2023 harvest benefited from favorable climatic conditions for the optimal ripening of white grapes. Experts have noted aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, suggesting a rich and fresh aromatic profile. Nuragus is a late-ripening cultivar, and for the 2023 vintage, it was hand-harvested in early October. In the glass, it presents a pale, vibrant straw-yellow color. On the nose, it offers a fruity and fragrant bouquet with notes of lemon blossoms, guava, green apple, and honeydew melon. This wine has a medium body, with crisp acidity and a citrusy finish that make it fresh and balanced, characterized by distinctive sapidity that reflects its terroir. It pairs beautifully with seafood crudités, especially oysters. Additionally, Antonella Corda's winery completed its conversion to organic farming in July 2021, obtaining certification. The Nuragus 2023 thus emerges as a fresh and aromatic wine, capable of expressing the full potential of the grape variety even in a challenging vintage.
