Description

CANNONAU DI SARDEGNA
Denominazione di Origine Controllata
GRAPE VARIETY
Cannonau - Also known as Grenache
TASTING NOTES
This Cannonau, also known as Grenache or Granacha, grows on wind-whipped pebble soils. The 2020 harvest began on September 20th, strictly by hand and in crates. The vinification and aging are aimed at not upsetting or contrasting what this splendid grape offers, so after fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, the aging also takes place in steel tanks and in French oak barriques not toasted. The Cannonau 2020 is light ruby red in color and the nose is wonderfully sweet and fresh with the absolutely typical hints of Grenache. Very balanced and yet fresh wine with aromas of cherry, raspberry, blackberry, rose and a delicate spicy note of white pepper. The decisive freshness harmonizes with the warm notes and the exceptional softness of the tannins. This wine is one of the best representatives of this splendid grape variety. So gentle, refreshing and, despite the alcohol content, pure and ethereal. In July 2021 the company completed the conversion process to Organic, and is therefore certified.
