TASTING NOTES
Basilica San Martino, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione wine, has been produced since 1985. The 3.82-hectare vineyard has a south-southeast exposure and is named after the ancient church of San Martino in Cecione. The wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. In particular, the vineyard follows organic cultivation practices. The 2019 vintage of Chianti Classico was well received. The Chianti Classico from the 2019 vintage is considered a very good vintage, with wines characterised by fresh fruit, lively acidity and soft tannins. The weather conditions during the harvest favoured uniform ripening of the grapes, leading to balanced, well-structured wines. The wines of this vintage are appreciated for their elegance and finesse, with a good capacity for ageing. The composition of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes in the Basilica San Martino contributes to the wine's unique and international character. This blend, combined with the organic cultivation methods employed in the vineyard, results in a distinct expression of terroir and grape varieties.
