TASTING NOTES
Les Valozieres is a highly regarded Premier Cru vineyard situated in Aloxe-Corton, in the northern part of the Cote de Beaune, at the foot of the Grand Cru Corton hill. Its ideal location for the Pinot Noir vineyard produces a rich, structured and minerally balanced Premier Cru wine. The vineyard's south-eastern exposure ensures many hours of sunshine during the day, creating a warm climate that favours grape ripening. Cool nights maintain good acidity. The calcareous soils with a layer of clay and gravel offer the vines' roots the opportunity to grow deep in search of nourishment. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and transferred to vats for an 8-10 day fermentation, which produces elegant and delicate wines. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to the cellar for bottling, where it will mature for 12-18 months. During this time, racking is carried out to separate the sediment, ensuring a clear and pure wine. At the end of the vinification process, the wine is filtered and bottled. The Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valozières 2022 from Domaine Edmond Cornu is an intense, deep wine with notes of fresh fruits such as raspberries and currants on the nose. Its generous structure is supported by red fruits, complex layers of oak ageing and tannins that give the wine a dry and structured character. Dark fruit notes and balanced acidity guarantee excellent ageing potential. After five years of maturation, the wine is ready for consumption. It can be stored for several years.
