TASTING NOTES
The 2020 vintage experienced a mild and rainy winter, followed by a warm spring still characterised by good rainfall, which facilitated steady vegetative development up to flowering. In June, the last rains fell before summer, which was warm and dry, but not scorching. At the end of August, new precipitation brought a welcome drop in temperatures, which then rose again in September to accompany the harvest. The healthy and ripe grapes, carefully selected in the vineyard, were brought to the winery and vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, allowing for prolonged contact between the skins and the must. Malolactic fermentation took place immediately after alcoholic fermentation, also in tank. The wine was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% one-year-old) and for 6 months in bottle. The wines from the 2020 vintage in Bolgheri are showing great balance and harmony, intense and deep, with tannic structures that are already soft and not excessive. It is a serious red with a compact palate featuring fresh blue fruit, berries, and hints of toasted oak, smoke, and chocolate. It is full-bodied with a tight palate and finely crafted tannins. This elegant Bordeaux blend comprises Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The Millepassi Magnum 2020 is sold with its original wooden box, making this bottle perfect as an important gift.
ORIGIN OF THE NAME
