BAROLO RISERVA
Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita
GRAPE VARIETY
100% Nebbiolo
TASTING NOTES
A red with fantastic depth and richness, but still very fresh and vivid. Full-bodied with a solid core of bright fruit. Exceptional length and intensity. Very, very long. We recommend uncorking it from 2021, as it is now in great shape. As a note, we remind you that Barolo Riserva requires a further aging of at least two years, compared to the three already foreseen for Barolo Docg. Barolo wine and its Riserva find the right combination with dishes such as roasted red meat, braised meats, game, game, truffled foods, hard and aged cheeses. Like all great red wines, it can also be classified as a meditation wine. It is an essential ingredient of braised meat and risotto al Barolo, typical recipes of Piedmontese cuisine. A typically winter wine that takes time: time to mature, time to open the bottle, time to prepare dinner and time to be able to appreciate it at the table.

Tenuta L’Illuminata is the first of Guido Folonari's wineries, heir to a historic Italian family that has always been in the world of wine. It is located in Piedmont, in La Morra, in the Langhe area. The 10 hectares of vineyards, located at an average altitude of 250 meters with south-west exposure, are characterized by soils of different origins. The company expresses best Piedmontese viticulture through the production of Barolo DOCG, Barbera d’Alba DOC, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC and Dolcetto d’Alba DOC. The Tenuta L’Illuminata cellar has been completely renovated and equipped with all the latest technologies. The aging in wood takes place in French oak barriques and in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels. The barrel room is a very suggestive and important ambience, a place where the wine rests until reaches the right time to be bottled.
