GRAPPA DI BOLGHERI
Millepassi
GRAPE VARIETY
Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot
TASTING NOTES
Grappa Millepassi is obtained from the selected pomace of grapes from the Donna Olimpia 1898 vineyards located in Bolgheri. The very fresh marcs are distilled with a discontinuous bain-marie distiller, which allows to grasp the different and very marked characteristics of the raw material used. The grappa is left to rest for 3 years in small oak barrels previously used for Bolgheri Superiore Millepassi. Austere grappa, rich in body, rightly alcoholic, rich in perfumes and esters acquired with aging; from the wood it has absorbed a slight color and a toasted note that amplifies the bouquet. It is a very thick and harmonious grappa.
ORIGIN OF THE NAME
Millepassi: the name derives from "milium", a Roman itinerary measure, corresponding to a thousand paces (1480 m), and had been attributed to podere, because it was crossed by an ancient Roman road.
