TASTING NOTES
The rolling hills surrounding the town of Bergheim are ideal for Pinot Noir, which is best expressed in clayey-limestone soils. Pinot Noir Le Rosé 2022 has a fresh and fruity scent with hints of raspberries, strawberries and a breath of spice. The taste is fruity and fresh with hints of red fruits, peaches and a touch of spice. The tannins are elegant and delicate. An incredibly versatile rosé, to be sipped throughout the meal. It is perfect for aperitif time. Fresh and delicately fruity, it is ideal when combined with traditional Mediterranean recipes, white meats, summer salads and light cheeses. Try it with ethnic dishes, especially with a recipe from Thai cuisine. The Gustave Lorentz company is a family business, founded in 1836, and today run by the sixth generation through George Lorentz. Gustave Lorentz is located in the village of Bergheim in Alsace, known for its quality wines. In 2015 they inaugurated their new and modern cellar, a great investment to further improve the quality of the wines. Although the company is very modern, it still has 33 old wooden barrels of 1,400 to 10,100 liters each, some of which are more than 100 years old. Storing the wine in this wood does not obtain the toasted and vanilla characteristics typical of new wood but a careful supply of oxygen through the pores of the wood, a detail that contributes to the complexity of the wines. Gustave Lorentz owns 33 Ha of vineyards, all certified organically, but also buys grapes from another 100 Ha. The grapes purchased come from long-term contract growers around the village of Bergheim. Gustave Lorentz checks that the vineyards are managed according to their indications, furthermore the harvest is carried out only by hand and each vineyard and grape variety is vinified separately to guarantee the quality of the product in the bottle.
