TASTING NOTES
The harvest of Brunello di Montalcino San Filippo Dei Comunali 2018 began in the first decade of October, with the first two days of cold maceration in tanks, and then temperature-controlled fermentation was followed by 12 days of maceration on the skins at a temperature of 26°/28°. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in cement tanks, steel tanks and wooden vats to make the product softer and more persuasive. 28 months of aging in barrique and 10 in bottle are enough to give us a spectacular Brunello. The color is ruby red with a slight tendency to garnet. The taste is intense, spicy and savory, with aromas of currant, sage, dried orange, mint and bark. It is full-bodied with elegant, well-integrated tannins. A subtle herbaceous touch gives it freshness. A red wine of great character that we recommend uncorking and drinking from 2024.
