TASTING NOTES
Pinot Noir has flourished in South Tyrol for more than a century, especially in the vineyards of Renon and Leitach, situated between 500 and 700 metres above sea level. This testifies to the resilience of the local vineyards and the dedication of the winegrowers. The 2023 harvest in South Tyrol was conditioned by extreme weather conditions, with high temperatures, rain in early September and the expected dry autumn with hot days and cool nights. However, despite these challenges, the grapes harvested were slightly larger than in previous years, with a lower sugar content and fresher aromas. We would like to emphasise that the optimal ripening conditions in September resulted in excellent aromas due to the temperature fluctuations between day and night. The harvested grapes were destemmed and fermented in steel. To enhance its spicy and liquorice characteristics, part of the resulting wine was aged in oak barrels.Alto Adige Pinot Noir has a deep ruby red colour and a broad, intense bouquet with fruity and floral notes of cherry and raspberry. It is a wine with a long finish and an enveloping spicy note.
