TASTING NOTES
The 2021 harvest began with a mild winter, albeit rich in precipitation, even rich of snow, which ensured an excellent water reserve of the ground which proved to be fundamental for supporting the vineyard and contrasting the least rainy summer in recent years. The Barbera was harvested by hand and in crates in the last week of September, in ideal conditions from both a technological and a phenological point of view. The very high sugar content of the grapes, combined with an important acid picture compared to previous vintages, especially considering the malic acid content, will allow to obtain complex and long-lived wines. Barbera Colbertina 2021 in the glass looks intense ruby ​​red with violet reflections, the nose is broad and complex with floral notes reminiscent of rose and pleasant hints of chocolate and vanilla; in the mouth it is full, harmonious with a persistent and pleasant aftertaste.
ORIGIN OF THE NAME
The name originates from the imaginative interpretation of the surname of the Marchesa Giulia Colbért who, in the 19th century, was a great connoisseur and advocate of Langhe wines.
